8 Nineties Actors You Can Find in a Hallmark Christmas Movie

Here’s our theory: all Hallmark Christmas movies exist in the same universe. The Hallmark Christmas Universe, or HCU, if you will. And in the HCU, you’ll find plenty of your favourite actors from the nineties learning the importance of being festive, getting involved with low-stakes will-they-won’t-they romances, and possibly meeting with Christmas-obsessed royalty. It’s a fantastic universe and we won’t hear a thing against it.

You probably fell in love with her (or wanted to be her) on The Wonder Years, when she was the dark-haired girl down the street somehow involved in every important moment of young Fred Savage’s life. But since she played a maid who falls in love with royalty in Crown for Christmas, she’s been going steady with Hallmark Christmas movies. This year she’ll be in You, Me & the Christmas Trees.

She was the more responsible and mature twin in Sister Sister. But in A Gingerbread Romance, she’s an architect who builds a life-sized gingerbread house. With a dreamy guy, of course.

Back in the nineties, she was spending extravagantly on Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. Now, she’s got her own Hallmark movie series, Christmas in Evergreen.
LeAnn Rimes
Okay, she’s more of a nineties singer than a nineties actor, but she’s also starred in It’s Christmas, Eve. We’re always in favour of punny Christmas movie titles.
Lacey Chabert
We knew her in the nineties as child prodigy violinist in Party of Five, but these days you’re more likely to know Chabert from her Hallmark work. She’s been in 27 movies for the network (and counting), 19 of which have been produced since 2017. After all, there are a lot more happy endings in these Christmas movies than there were for the poor Salinger children. This year, you can see her in Christmas at Castle Hart.

Yes, she’ll forever be Stephanie Tanner and you’ll always remember the time she backed Uncle Joey’s car into the kitchen. And then did it again, for reasons we don’t fully understand. Anyway, now all her non-Full House related stuff is Christmas and Hallmark. She started with Finding Santa and most recently appeared in Merry & Bright.

Once, he was Superman in one of the most-watched portrayals of DC’s mightiest superhero. Now, you can see him in films like Broadcasting Christmas. Which also features nineties TV star Melissa Joan Hart, in her only Hallmark Christmas role. So far.

Oh Mylanta! After Full House, Candace Cameron Bure went on to become a TV movie sensation, starring in her first of many Hallmark Christmas movies in 2009. This year, you can see her in The Christmas Contest, but she’s also been in If I Only Had Christmas, Christmas Town, A Shoe Addict’s Christmas, and a bunch more. Look, Hallmark, just crown her queen of Christmas already! Wait, that’s basically the premise of this movie?
