The season of blockbuster hits, major sports championships, and the summer season of some of our most intense TV has just begun. With so much to choose from, we’ve selected the most exciting picks for the month. Check out what we’ve got on deck!

The Handmaid’s Tale – HBO, June 5

After leaving June in Gilead to search for her eldest daughter, Hannah, we’ve been on edge waiting to see what will happen next. What we do know is what June says: “If they didn’t want an army, they shouldn’t have given us uniforms.” We’re dying to find out how Season 3 unfolds.

Grown-ish – ABC Spark, June 5

Summer session is IN! The second half of Season 2 of Grown-ish, a spin-off of the wildly popular series Black-ish, will pick up where its cliffhanger left off: as Zoey and her friends deal with messy relationships, school, and adulthood. Get ready for thought-provoking exploration of issues like cultural appropriation, mental health, and academic scandal, mixed with their signature humour. This is a season your family will love.

The 73rd Annual Tony Awards – CBS, June 9

Hosted by the hilarious James Corden, at the historic Radio City Music Hall, this year’s Tony Awards promises to have some creative and exciting skits, scenes, and steals. In the lead with 14, 12, and 11 nominations each, are “Hadestown,” “Ain’t Too Proud,” and “Tootsie.” We’re excited to see what how many awards each will sweep!

Big Little Lies – HBO, June 9

If you haven’t jumped on the Big Little Lies train yet, Now. Is. The. Time. The all-star cast includes executive producers Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley and this season Meryl Streep joins BLL. What exactly does she want with the Monterey Five? This season will definitely keep us on the edge of our seats!

119th US Open – TSN, June 13–16

Expect big match days, every day of this always anticipated summer sports event. It’s hosted at the iconic Pebble Beach®  for the sixth time, so we’ll be looking forward to stunning views as well as incredible sports and exciting performances from Mike Weir, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, and back-to-back PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka.

Paris Is Burning (re-release) – in Theatres from June 14 forward

This groundbreaking documentary not only led the way for Madonna’s video for Vogue, Wolfgang Busch’s 2006 documentaryHow Do I Look?, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and the FXseries Pose, it also served as the indelible reference point for all things ballroom culture and introduced the world to its founding stars. The newly remastered doc will be showing for a limited, two-week run this month, just in time for its 19thanniversary.

Toy Story 4 –  in Cineplex, June 21

It’s a new adventure for Woody and Buzz who are off to help Bonnie find her favorite toy, Forky, a spork she decorated herself, who has run away! After the heart-wrenching ending to Toy Story 3, we’re good with whatever Pixar has in store this time. We just hope it’ll be a happy ending!
